This position is responsible for accurately packaging ICW products for shipment, assembling boxes, placing products inside boxes and filling with proper packing or cushioning materials. Ensure timely delivery of customer orders by adhering to shipping deadlines and quality standards. Works well with different levels of management and plant supervisors as well as employees.
What you will be doing
- Confer with supervisor to ascertain packing to be used
- Meet shipping deadlines requested by our customers
- Operate Speedy Packer system to dispense an expandable foam-filled bag to protect from damage
- Inspect products prior to packing and wrapping to ensure order is correct and complete
- Maintain production efficiency and standards at maximum levels
- Maintain quality and quantity levels
- Operate box maker system to make quality boxes that best fits application
- Assemble shipping boxes and securely seal them
- Some heavy lifting of boxes required, up to 50 pounds
- Prepare large orders by stacking boxes on crate or pallet and securely shrink wrapping
- Maintain efficient and smooth flow of packages to meet customer demands and shipping requirements
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform regular scheduled equipment maintenance
- Maintain excellent communication with other department staff
- Consistently work on process improvement
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Other duties as assigned
About you
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Two years related experience preferred
Skills/Abilities: Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with personnel in all departments. Excellent organizational skills.
