About the role
The successful Automation Technician will have experience working with high production automation equipment; Candidate should possess above average mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and be experienced with root cause problem solving methods. The candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work well under pressure while effectively running a cell of up to 5 automated machines. This position works to ensure all production requirements are met on a daily basis and equipment is running at peak performance. Candidate should be fluent in Microsoft applications with the ability to train, mentor and develop others. Candidate should possess strong continuous improvement focus and mindset.
What you will be doing
1. Sets up and Operates Multiple Automated Machines within the Automation Cell, run up to 5 machines concurrently with no supervision. Assure all equipment is running to quoted production rates at all times to achieve facility OEE and Productivity Goals.
2. Work directly with production management on a daily basis to solve immediate manufacturing problems. Such problems could include set-up procedures, machine problems, or electrical problems..
3. Perform Advanced Troubleshooting of machine malfunctions and corrects malfunctions Diagnose, test, and debug complex equipment, and include recommendations for operation.
4. Respond to emergency situations that affect production capabilities and react to get things running and allow us to service our customers.
5. Conducts preliminary technical evaluation and troubleshooting of equipment or process malfunctions; escalates problems to appropriate persons when needed.
6. Assist in the design and concepts for new automated equipment.
7. Performs quality checks in electronic system, evaluates trends and outliers, accurately reports production, and material transfers.
About you
1. High School diploma or Equivalent, Two Year Technical degree preferred.
2. Possess Continuous improvement focus and mindset
3. 2 years Experience with automation, automated systems and equipment.
4. Detail oriented, productivity and quality focused
5. Demonstrated Ability to teach, mentor and train others
6. Demonstrated Advanced mechanical skill and ability.
7. Able to read and understand blueprints, schematics and technical documents.
8. Above Average problem solving and troubleshooting skills, utilizing root cause techniques, and critical thinking.
