About the role
The Key Account Manager I is responsible for the management and successful growth of Southco's designated Key Accounts, building relationships with senior-level contacts, driving new business opportunities, and meeting sales and market share targets for their assigned accounts.
What you will be doing
- Meet with 15-20 contacts per week at designated key accounts, developing relationships with key contacts including senior-level individuals, and identify new business opportunities
- Document all pertinent account activity in Salesforce.com (SFDC)
- Use SFDC Activity Manager daily to plan, document, and execute business activities (meetings, calls, quotes, sample requests) and SFDC Opportunity Manager to characterize opportunities and prepare periodic forecast updates, keeping at least 80% of Key Account business captured and up to date
- Prepare and submit Monthly Overview summaries covering significant field activities and progress on critical customer programs
- Prepare quarterly customer and gap analysis presentations, and submit an annual goal-setting package identifying at least 80% of manageable business across existing and projected opportunities
About you
- BSME, or a BS with 8+ years of Southco/Access Hardware industry selling experience
- 0-3 years of sales experience, with an understanding of top- and bottom-line business issues and impacts
- Computer literate, with the ability to develop proficiency in Southco software programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com
- Strong sales, communication, presentation, and listening skills
