About the role
The Primary Set-Up & Operator supports Primary operations. The associate is accountable to the time requirements for set up as stated in the business system. Upon completion of a set-up, the associate is responsible for producing quality components, running a minimum of two work centers, performing material handling functions as required, and maintaining their assigned work area and associated Primary machines. Associates must also perform operator level Preventative Maintenance (PMs) on Primary machines.
Compensation: $27.00-$31.00
Plus 10% shift differential!
What you will be doing
- Perform multiple set-ups using, work instructions, and set up sheets. Perform set-ups in the required amount of time stated in the business system. Verify the status of the progressive dies/ molds before beginning the set-up process. Safely retrieve and return progressive dies/molds to the die storage area using an electric or manual die cart.
- Simultaneously run a minimum of two stamping presses/die casting machines. Responsible for the quality and quantity of products being manufactured. Demonstrate the ability to proficiently operate multiple tonnage Primary machines.
- Perform all material handling duties required to keep a job productive. Safely retrieve stock coils/zinc pallets and return the unused coil stock to the coil storage areas using an electric hand-cart or fork truck.
- Proficiently use measuring devices to collect quality data as determined by the business system.
- Demonstrate methodical trouble shooting skills to resolve component quality issues stemming from progressive dies/molds and/or the Primary machinery.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping practices (5s ).

- Familiar with or ability to learn the operating system
- Able to work to very close tolerances (.0005")
- Knowledge of mechanical blueprints
- Able to use measuring instruments
- Good to excellent mechanical skills
- Able to lift up to 33 lbs
