About the role
As a Screw Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining sophisticated machines to manufacture high-volume, precision parts. You will ensure parts meet specifications by interpreting blueprints, operating machines, and performing quality control checks. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.
What you will be doing
- Operate one or more screw machines
- Read basic blueprints and layouts, and use all applicable measuring instruments
- Learn and understand most products, including usage of some attachments. Diagnose and remedy tooling and operating difficulties
- Clean coolant sumps; drain and replace coolant and perform monthly maintenance as scheduled
- Report production, set-up and repair in the operating system
- Responsible for washing, cleaning and confirming parts.
About you
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Requires apprenticeship or at least two years previous screw machine experience.
- Able to perform duties with minimum supervision.
- Able to work to very close tolerances (.0005").
- Good to excellent mechanical skills.
- Able to lift/push up to 33 lbs
- Ability to fully use both hands/arms including ability to reach in all directions, perform pinching operations, complete repetitive tasks, and possess good grip strength. (Frequent)
- Familiar with operating system.
- Ability to bend and twist at the neck and waist. (Frequent)
- Ability to be a team player.
- Quality and safety conscious.
- Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, or walking. (Frequent)
