What you will be doing
Strategic Projects & Process Improvements
Working with the Production Planning team, elicit feedback and identify strategic production planning initiatives and/or process improvements that align with overall business objectives, considering long-term growth, market trends, and industry best practices. Participate in key projects by contributing feedback, performing testing and leading the adoption and implementation efforts. This can include topics such as advanced production planning software and technologies to enhance forecasting accuracy, streamlining of various processes, and improved decision-making.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Data Analysis
Collaborate closely with senior leaders in production, procurement, shipping, and other departments to support key initiatives such as preparing delivery performance improvement presentations. Utilize data analysis tools and software to evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to assess delivery performance, inventory management, overall planning process adherence (planned vs. created vs. released hours) and other relevant metrics . This includes root cause and corrective action identification for monthly operations scorecards.
Training (New Hire & Continuous)
Responsible for delivering training to, and configuring SAP for, all new hires within the function (this includes Jr. and Sr. level Production Planning responsibilities). Provide feedback to the Regional Coordinator and Process Lead teams with ideas for enhancements to the training content and/or program. Work with Regional Coordinator to utilize skills matrices, evaluating all Jr. and Sr. level Production Planners at your site, identifying needs for ongoing training, developing a training plan and being responsible for the successfully delivery.
Regional Coordinator
Responsible for general oversight of existing systems and processes utilized within the Production Planning function. Includes topics such as the availability and maintenance of a robust training program, utilization of a skills matrix, ticket management (user reported defects and enhancement ideas), escalation support. Additionally, work closely with the Process Lead to gain alignment on strategic objectives and project priorities. Communicate regular updates to Power User community and ensure subsequent waterfall to general user group.
About you
1. APICS / ISM affiliation and certification preferred.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Admin or other related field preferred.
3. Experience with Microsoft Excel.
4. 5-7 years operations planning &/or purchasing experience. Previous Southco product knowledge, or related experience preferred.
This role is based in Concordville, PA and requires working in office 5 days per week.
