About the role
The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the work of 10–15 employees during the night shift, running Sunday through Friday from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. In this role, the supervisor oversees both injection molding and assembly operations, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality standards. Key responsibilities include monitoring workflow, resolving operational issues, supporting team members, and maintaining a well-organized and compliant work environment. The supervisor also plays a critical role in training employees, promoting consistent performance, and fostering strong communication across shifts to support overall production continuity.
What you will be doing
1. Ensure a safe work environment within the manufacturing facility for all employees
2. Exercise the ability to mentor, lead, and develop employees' skills and responsibilities on a continuous basis
3. Monitor quality for continuous improvement and implement corrective action to achieve zero defects that will promote Southco as the leader in the global market
4. Effectively coordinate and communicate production issues with management, production planning, quality, staff, and production supervisors
5. Monitor production processes for constraints and productivity improvements. Develop plans and actions to alleviate the constraints in order to provide world class service
6. Effectively utilize the employees to address production and quality issues in a team setting
7. Ability to plan and implement activities that support the company's global goals
About you
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree preferred)
- Three to five years of manufacturing experience; supervisory experience preferred
- Significant technical background and skills to manage and develop the department(s)
- Strong interpersonal skills that promote a high level of communication and understanding
- Ability to work in and promote a team environment
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a positive environment
- Good organizational skills
- High knowledge and understanding of quality and business systems
- Safety and Quality conscious
- Experience with plastic injection molding prefered
