About the role
This position for the Tool and Die maker role will be part of New Product Development team at our Concordville facility.
This role will have a strong focus on Prototype parts - which includes collaboration with Engineers/Technicians in the design and development of the components, fabrication of the parts using various toolroom equipment including Prototrak and Bridgeport Mills, CNC/Manual Lathes, Grinders, and other toolroom equipment, as well as debugging/modifying the parts.
This role will also support the NPD team with the fabrication of fixtures, gages, and tooling for new projects. Tooling work may include modifications to injection mold tooling, test fixtures and assembly fixtures. This role will also support prototyping activities using 3D FDM Printer Technology.
What you will be doing
- Work with NPD teams to develop and support prototypes builds on all levels - assist in design, fabrication, and modifications of jobs
- Solve any die and mold problems in regard to type, layout, development, and mathematics, so as to achieve expected performance in production
- Build/Repair, maintain and modify any dies, molds, fixtures, machines, tools, and tooling for production departments • Have active involvement and input in planning and designing prototypes, molds, dies, and fixtures
- Supervise and be a project leader in the course of building new dies, molds, prototypes, and fixtures
- Improvise when necessary tools or equipment are not available
- Perform assignments involving the field of model maker, gage maker, mold maker, jig grinder, and machine builder
- Keep abreast of all the latest developments and advances made within the trade
- Purchase and maintain all the personal tools necessary to perform the above described duties

About you
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Tool and Die Apprenticeship or equivalent work experience
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs/18 kgs
- Good mechanical ability
- Knowledge of metrics, shop trigonometry, and geometry
- Able to read/understand blueprints
- Able to select most tooling materials
- Capable of operating all Tool Room machinery • Able to interact with other departments at a design level
- Three to five years experience as Tool and Die Maker , or equivalent experience
- Safety and Quality Conscious
- Basic CAD Skills Preferred
