About the role
Southco is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support our Corporate Headquarters office. In this role, you’ll be a trusted point of contact for employees and managers across a range of HR disciplines, including recruiting, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and training. You’ll work closely with the local campus HR team to keep our HR programs running smoothly and to bring forward new ideas that meet the evolving needs of the business. You will report to the HR Director for the Americas Region.
What you will be doing
Think of yourself as the person who keeps the employee experience running smoothly, from the first interview to the day-to-day questions that come up along the way. Here’s what that looks like:
-
- Be the first handshake. Source, screen, interview, and evaluate candidates — you’re often the first real conversation someone has with Southco.
- Make day one (and day ninety) feel right. Help new hires get oriented and set up for success as they settle in.
- Keep performance reviews on track. Nudge managers, track deadlines, and support the wage and salary process so reviews actually happen on schedule.
- Be the person people come to. Field employee questions and concerns, and help managers work through everyday people issues with the right policy and a level head.
- Run point on the paperwork that matters. Process FMLA, disability, and Workers’ Compensation claims, and keep benefits administration moving.
- Help people grow. Support training and development programs for both new hires and current employees.
- Keep us covered. Stay on top of local, state, and federal labor law basics.
- Jump in where needed. Support the campus team with day-to-day HR tasks — no two days look exactly the same.
