About the role

Production supervisor works leading and overseeing assembly personnel across all product lines throughout their shift. They generally split their time between office and manufacturing floor where they manage schedules and oversee production reporting activities. Production Supervisor ensures that the production environment is safe for employees by conducting safety training and inspections. They are responsible for onboarding and training new employees and ensuring that all required training is complete. This front-line supervisory role requires technical expertise in mechanical and electrical assembly experience and familiarity with best practices in production. The Production supervisor will support manufacturing activities by maintaining and writing production reports and records. They may prepare daily activity reports as well as employee evaluations and cascade goals and guidance to meet the company’s key objectives.  Production supervisors also report on manufacturing and production issues to enhance productivity while collaborating with planners and manufacturing engineers ensuring prompt business systems utilizations and ensure that workers adhere to production schedules know status.

 

What will you be doing

*Provide front line leadership through the ability to mentor and develop employees' skills, responsibilities and teamwork on a continuous basis. Monitor department processes (checks the process) and rates to ensure that optimum quality and production is obtained promoting TouchPoint Medical as a leader in the global market. Take corrective action as required.

*Attends production meetings, leads daily stand ups. Monitor production processes for constraints and productivity improvements. Implement activities that support the company’s key objectives, which may be in the form of Kaizen, CI (continuous improvement) events, and JDI’s (just do it). Encourages and engages with team to support their participation in CI and JDI’s. 

*Assess, analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative metrics to determine current and future state. Effectively coordinate and communicate production issues with management, production planning, quality and supervisors. Develop plans and actions to alleviate the constraints in order to provide world class service.

*Monitor workplace safety and strive to prevent injuries and accidents. Utilize a safety checklist and/or reporting tools to conduct periodic inspections of equipment and personnel, reporting and resolving potential hazards. Completes incident investigation report and investigates the accident as well as notifies the facility safety coordinator and may make recommendations to improve safeguards.

 

About You

*High School Diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).

*5-7 years manufacturing experience, 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred.

*Significant technical background and skills to manage and develop the department(s).

*Interpersonal skills that promote a high level of communication and understanding. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a positive team environment.

*Must be able to sit or stand intermittently for up to 8 hours daily. Must be able to bend, twist, push, pull, and lift products varying in weight. Products 50lbs or less unassisted products more than 50lbs assisted.

*High knowledge and understanding of the quality and business systems. Quality and safety conscious.

*Good organizational skills
