Job Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, maximizing sales growth potential and working within the Southco business development team (Customer Service, Account Managers, Marketing) to secure new business.  Additionally, the position is responsible for providing product design assistance to members of the Southco sales and service teams, as well as working cross-functionally with various departments, in support of targeted initiatives as they relate to overall company performance.

What you will be doing

•    Effectively manage all new business leads in order to identify and target new business opportunities.  Follow up on all customer inquiries directed towards the Customer Service Department related to product design.  Qualify resulting opportunities by understanding the customers application, product usage, market strategy and production requirements.  Engage customers throughout the product design cycle, providing technical and commercial supported as required.

•    Work with the TPM business development team (Customer Service, Account Managers, Marketing) to ensure optimal management of new business opportunities.  This includes coordinating and conducting onsite customer visits and product seminars

•    Provide product design assistance to both internal and external customers, including Customer Service Representatives, new and prospective customers and TPM Authorized Distributor personnel.  Lead product, process and application training for the Customer Service team members and various other internal employees

•    Utilize gap analysis and order pattern recognition tools to identify order trend variances and proactively engage customers to mitigate potential lost business scenarios.

•    Partake in ongoing self-development by identifying focus areas within your current role or opportunities to advance personal career ladder.  Including the attendance of external sales training workshops.  Work with the Inside Sales Manager to create and implement corresponding development plan(s).

•    Identify trends in customer and market activity.  Provide feedback to TPM Product and Industry management personnel along with recommendations for product development and market approach

•    Document all customer facing activity via the Salesforce.com Customer Relationship Management system.  Plan, notate and execute pertinent business activities (i.e. meetings, telephone conversations, quotes, sample requests, etc.).  Use the Salesforce.com opportunity management module to characterize and communicate new business opportunities and prepare periodic forecast updates.

•    Utilize TPM Material Replenishment Planning system (SAP) in order to support all customer inquiries as they relate to product pricing and procurement in support of new business opportunities. 

•    Identify continuous improvement opportunities related to Inside Sales processes and systems usage.  Work with the sales and system support teams to drive the development and implementation of detailed action plans; lead these plans to completion.

Qualifications

1.    Bachelors Degree required (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred)  0-3 years of experience, preferably in a technical sales role.

2.    Must be computer literate and display excellent communication and telephone skills.

3.    High energy level - Self-starter.  High degree of technical aptitude

4.    Goal oriented, ambitious, extremely motivated.  Reliable, with a resilient nature.  Mentally tough and able to withstand rejection.

5.    Team oriented, people oriented and a relationship builder. Enthusiastic, confident and mature. Displays an innate sense of curiosity, and strong accountability.  Strategically minded.

6.    Ability to thrive in a fast pace work environment and handle multiple tasks.

7.    Language Requirements: English required.
